Flannel weather is finally here, and Keller even put a Flannel Fest on the calendar to make it official. If you could pick only one stop this weekend, the Grapevine parade, the Carroll craft fair or the coin show, which would it be? Hit reply and tell us.

Closing Soon: Own a Stake in the Future of Popcorn

The popcorn brand that keeps making headlines is entering the final stretch of its investment round.

Popsmith raised $348,000 on Kickstarter before it ever reached a store shelf, and in 2024 it was named one of Oprah’s Favorite Things. Retail partnerships with Williams Sonoma, Costco, and Crate & Barrel have further cemented its position in the premium home and kitchen market.

Now Popsmith is raising capital to bring its Poppers and popcorn into more kitchens, and individual investors have just a few weeks left to own shares.

🏗️ What Keller Got in the Data Center Deal

Photo: City of Keller FB Page

Keller has settled its legal fight over the proposed data center in neighboring Westlake. The city finalized the agreement Thursday with developer Circle T Owner LP, after the City Council unanimously approved the terms. The deal doesn't stop the 1.1 million-square-foot project on U.S. 377, which sits about 500 feet from some homes in Keller's Lakes at Marshall Ridge neighborhood. What it does is give Keller enforceable rights over how the site operates, even though it's outside city limits.

According to the city, the settlement includes:

  • Noise limits at nearby residential property lines, day and night, plus an independent baseline noise study and quarterly monitoring for the first three years of operation.

  • A 10-foot landscaped berm to screen the site, with screening trees replaced if they die or are badly damaged.

  • $1.5 million for noise monitoring, mitigation and other programs that benefit Keller residents, and $300,000 for Keller Fire-Rescue training, equipment and response costs tied to the site.

  • Cleaner backup generators with EPA Tier 4 emissions controls, and generator testing limited to daytime hours.

  • $76,000 toward Keller's attorney and consultant costs.

The Lakes at Marshall Ridge homeowners association has also agreed to end its lawsuit. Westlake says no Westlake taxpayer money is going toward the settlement, and its Town Council has called a special meeting for Thursday, Nov. 12, at 5 PM to vote on the project's final development agreement. Keller says the full terms are posted on its website, and residents with questions can email [email protected].

It's the first half of a new "restaurant park" from Jakes' parent company, MAD Concepts Group, with a Tacos & Avocados still to come next door. Between the two sits The Backyard, an outdoor space built for lawn games, community events and letting the kids run while you finish your fries.

The menu goes past burgers and hand-cut fries to chicken sandwiches, wings, quesadillas, nachos and more, and there's a full bar, a dining room and a patio. Weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM to 1 PM.
