Your Backyard, All Four Seasons

Most backyards get about 90 good days a year. Yours could get 365.

Think about the moments you keep postponing "until summer": the birthday dinner outside, the Sunday morning coffee, the late-night talks with friends. A Hansø pergola stops the waiting.

Adjustable louvers let you chase the sun or shut out the rain. The structure is built from T6 aerospace-grade aluminum and engineered for up to 167 mph winds and up to 65 PSF snow load, so it's still standing strong when the weather isn't.

Early Bird Offers LAST CHANCE: save up to 40% on pergolas, plus a $1,000 installation voucher*, a Free Hansø ProCheck Care™ 10-Year Plan worth $950, and some FREE accessories to keep fall and winter evenings cozy.

Most pergolas are just for summer. Yours is for every season.

📰 The Local Rundown

🎺 Two Local Bands March Into State Monday

Two bands from our area will be on the field Monday at the UIL 6A State Marching Band Contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Carroll Senior High School and Keller ISD's Timber Creek High School both earned their spots at the Area B contest on Oct. 31 at Pennington Field in Bedford, where Carroll placed third and Timber Creek fourth in finals. Keller High School also made the Area B finals and finished fifth.

The 6A preliminary round runs all day Monday. According to UIL's published schedule, Timber Creek performs its show, "LineaRossa," at 7:30 PM, and Carroll takes the field at 9:15 PM. The 6A finals are Tuesday afternoon.

For Carroll, State caps a big fall. The Dragon Band won the Bands of America Memphis Regional on Oct. 24 with its show "Neon Noir," sweeping all three overall performance awards. It was the first time Carroll had won, or even medaled at, a Bands of America regional.

Tickets are $22 per session or $38 for a double session, sold through Ticketmaster with a service fee, and UIL offers a live video feed for anyone cheering from home.

🚧 Expect Flaggers on Shady Lane in Southlake This Week

If Shady Lane is part of your commute, plan for a short wait this week. Southlake Public Works starts sewer repairs near 616 Shady Lane on Monday, Nov. 9, and expects to wrap up by Friday, Nov. 13.

Crews will work from 7 AM to 2:30 PM each day, and the southbound lane of Shady Lane will close periodically during those hours. Flaggers will guide drivers through the work zone, so slow down and use caution, or take another route if you can.

❤️ Local Favorite: Feedstore BBQ | 530 S. White Chapel Blvd., Southlake

Long before Southlake had a stoplight, the building at 530 S. White Chapel Blvd. was the Bailey Feed Store, opened in the late 1950s. The Lafavers family moved to town in 1974, bought what was then Southlake Feed & Tack in 1997, and, as the animals moved out and the neighbors moved in, turned it into Feedstore BBQ in April 2001. The family says it's Southlake's oldest retail establishment as far as they can find, and it sources as much as it can from Texas producers, including Certified Hereford beef.

Expect chopped and sliced brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage and Southern sides, plus a couple of weekly specials: chicken fried steak on Tuesdays and Thursdays and burnt ends on Mondays and Saturdays. It's open until 8 PM tonight.
